Herrnhut stars explained in more detail
The story of how the Herrnhut Star came into being goes back to the 19th century. It was created within the Moravian Church of Herrnhut, which also gave its name to this star. The first star shines out of paper and cardboard inside the boarding school rooms of the Moravian Church. A maths teacher came up with the construct to improve students’ geometric understanding. Since then, the pupils have been making these stars for the 1st Advent. A tradition that was continued within the families.

Today, the Herrnhut Star is known worldwide and is a popular part of Christmas decorations. But increasingly, the star is also used all year round to light up the garden or hallway.

Since 2015, a special edition of the Herrnhut Star Manufacture has been published annually. We also have these on offer, but they are always quickly out of stock. But maybe you will be lucky and can secure this special star.
