The ‘most beautiful dairy shop in the world’, which was opened in 1892 by the Pfund brothers, is today one of the most popular attractions in Dresden and offers you a wide variety of cheese specialities and regional products in addition to its fascinating appearance.
With 247.9 m² of hand-painted tiles from Villeroy & Boch, the shop tells the story of the Pfund brothers. Unique in this world, our milk shop has been entered into the Guinness Book of Records.
A fairytale world of motifs awaits you on site that will amaze you. Meanwhile, you can indulge yourself with a glass of fresh milk, buttermilk, a cheese platter or other delicacies from our range.
The Pfund brothers were known in the city for their entrepreneurial spirit and wealth of ideas. The main focus was on supplying the people of Dresden with regional and high-quality products.
We took up this idea and opened another shop right next to our beautiful milk shop – our “Pfunds Spezialitätenladen”. This expands our range of regional products and offers a snack bar in addition to an extensive assortment.

The Pfund brothers used to run their own production, which is unfortunately no longer possible for us today. However, we source a large part of our range from partners and producers in the region in order to be able to continue to offer you high-quality products.
For over 130 years, Villeroy & Boch’s hand-painted tiles have adorned the walls of our beautiful milk shop, making it unique in this world. Since 1892, the shop has been used for the sale of dairy products.

We host various events for which you can buy tickets. Among other things, a cheese and whisky tasting is held once a year on our premises together with Whisky & Genuss from Dresden. And if you’ve always wanted to know how cheese-making works, our “Make Your Own Cheese” event is the place to be.

Since 24.09.2019, we have officially and proudly held the title of “Germany’s best cheese counter”.
This award has a very special value for us, as we were not able to apply for this award ourselves. Only customers of the individual shops had the opportunity to submit a proposal.
An expert jury visited the stores with the most votes unannounced and made an assessment in four categories – assortment, presentation, advice and overall impression.
After the in-depth review, the award ceremony with all nominees took place in Hamburg at the end of September. One winner was chosen per category.
To our delight, we were able to convince in all categories and were therefore awarded for the best overall impression. The trophy and the official certificate were accepted by our Managing Director and Ina Stephan (Milk Shop Manager). A memorable moment in the history of our beautiful milk shop.

Especially in winter, people like to fall back on something warm. Enjoy a daily changing range of soups, which we obtain from the Ceus company in Dresden. We also have a delicious pomegranate punch to go with it. We also offer a currywurst or bratwurst as a quick alternative.
